Wonder Woman 1984 Statue Gives 360 View of Diana’s Golden Eagle Costume

A new Wonder Woman 1984 figure by Hot Toys offers a detailed look at Diana’s Golden Eagle Armor. The sequel to 2017’s massively successful Wonder Woman, the new movie will take Diana and Steve to the 1980s. There, they’ll be joined by Pedro Pascal’s Maxwell Lord and Kristen Wiig’s Barbara Anne Minerva/Cheetah. However, despite the time period shift, Wonder Woman 1984 will also feature Themyscira and the Amazons, thanks to flashback scenes that almost didn’t make it into the final script. Additionally, fans will see Diana’s Golden Eagle Armor for the first time in the DCEU.

They got their first look at the new costume when the Wonder Woman 1984 poster debuted last summer. In the comics, Diana first wears the armor in the late ’90s, in a key fight against Lex Luthor and other villains. The Golden Eagle Armor is later revealed to have been made by the Amazons and is something Diana only wears when she needs extra protection in a battle. Many have speculated about why Diana needs the armor in this movie in particular, considering the dangerous villains she’s already gone up against. However, fans will have to wait until Wonder Woman 1984 comes out in August to know for sure.

Luckily, Hot Toys (via Sideshow) is here with a fun distraction in the meantime. They’ve debuted a realistic figure of Diana in her Golden Eagle Armor. The figure stands at around 30.5 cm tall and features two sets of interchangeable wings, including one for flying. It comes with three sets of hands as well, with one specifically made to wield the Lasso of Truth. Though fans can preorder the Wonder Woman 1984 figure for $360 now, it isn’t estimated to arrive until around this time next year.

Because of Wonder Woman 1984‘s release delay, promotional materials and figures like this one have become especially important. In some cases, they’ve even teased plot elements or revealed key parts of the movie. For example, a leaked image of Cheetah’s Funko Pop doll revealed her costume post-transformation. However, in the case of the Hot Toys design, it give fans a closer look at Diana’s Golden Eagle Armor and if anything, will just make them more excited to finally see it on the big screen.

This is especially true since there’s still so much mystery surrounding the use of the Golden Eagle Armor in Wonder Woman 1984. It seems likely Diana will save it for a big battle, but it’s hard to know if it will be with Maxwell Lord, Cheetah, or both. The armor looks quite dangerous, even just as part of a figure, so both villains could be in trouble when Diana decides to wear it.
