Born on July 6, 1962, Steven Avery is an American man from Manitowoc County, Wisconsin who had been wrongly convicted of sexual assault and attempted murder in 1985. He was exonerated by DAN testing after serving 18 years and however was convicted of murder in an unrelated case after two years.
On December 18, 2015, Making a Murderer was based on him. It is a 10 episode documentary series about Avery’s and Dassey’s investigations and trials. The series was widely reviewed in the media. The second series of the documentary was released on October 19, 2018.
